Doo - Get Things Done App Reviews

Lots of Promise, Has Work Ahead of It

Im finding that I do like the simplicity of the process, and eschewing some of the organization that more complicated apps bring. I can easily enter an action list from a meeting and go, and the focus on a single card does help. But there are a couple things that are utterly missing at this point which I would lean on: 1) Reminders Import. The ability to use Siri to input new tasks is helpful for me. 2) Option for a default time of day to snooze to when doing a custom snooze. I tend to use a default unless something needs to happen at a time of day, defaulting to the current time isnt all that helpful. 3) Way to get tasks input on a Mac. I am used to Reminders and Things letting me do this. Reminders import would help provide a workaround here. 4) Labels/Tags or some sort of simple organization. While not mandatory, it would help in making sure I dont ignore some areas.

Off To A Gorgeous Start

If you like good design & charm (like Pixar, Apple, Disney, etc) you should grab this to do app. Finally, a "to do list" that FEELS like it was reinvented for a mobile device. Great job - & thanks for the ability to shuffle! Im looking forward to more beautiful illustrations as the app progresses.

Best to do app ever

This is a great alternative to the long and sometimes overwhelming lists I used to keep. This app keeps me on track and productive without stressing me out. The new feature that lets you flip through the cards without snoozing them is just what I wanted. The developer responded to my each of my emails within a few hours of my sending them. I couldnt be more impressed or pleased!

Great for focus

With this version, Doo has now become an integral part of my daily routine. Doo helps me focus on just that one task in front of me, even when priorities change. Heres how I use it. First, from my main task repository (currently the robust task manager 2Do) I identify the 10-12 tasks each morning that rank highest in priority for the day. I then create cards for each of these tasks in Doo, use the new Edit feature to sort them by priority, and get to work. As tasks are completed, I make my way down the deck; and for those tasks that require additional time or inputs, I simply snooze them until I can pick them back up again. Finally, as priorities change throughout the day, I just tap Edit and reorder my cards as needed. I cannot recommend Doo highly enough for anyone who is looking for an elegant and flexible way to focus on whats next.

Good idea Needs work

If you could use your own photos on the cards this app would be close to perfect

Great to do app

Clean and simple todo app that let you focus on a current task, not the list.

Not for me

I bought this and its okay but really not as useful as I had hoped and there is an annoying bug. Whenever I try to snooze a task the app often snoozes a different task, not the one I intended. There is limited editing of tasks set for the future. Maybe an update will correct some things I dont like about the app, but right now Im just not using it much.

Very nice. Clean and to the point...

My only gripe is the lack of snooze options. Its either 1 hr or tomorrow - no in between. I dont want to get a reminder every hr when I know Im not going to get to it until later in the day.

Overpriced for Content

Ive had many to-do apps over the years but I bought this app on a recommendation and am very disappointed in its lack of customization and features. For $4.99 I expected much more and this app really does nothing that the stock reminders app cannot do in a better organized format. At a much lower price point I would say it would be worth a try as the "single task at a time" concept is good, but at this price I cannot recommend.

Focus is underrated...

Ive tried many of the todo apps... Omnifocus, Things, Asana, 2Do, Todoist, etc. Regardless of the deeper personal or team task management systems I currently use - in the moment (the only place from which I can act) I keep a stack of notecards, with one task on each in the order in which I plan to approach them. Im not sure is app will replace my notecards yet... but I totally support this apps vision.

Doo

Great app. Simple and effective.

Great design and functionality

I know good design when I see it, and this is just simply elegant to use. I have tried many list apps that just get full of to dos with nothing actually getting done, and this definitely gives me focus!

Was okay until today

Downloaded a few days ago, was working okay until today when I opened it up and a bunch of items that were already marked done were back in my list. Not recurring items, just regular one-offs. I liked the interface but if it cant keep track of my to do list properly its useless.

Beautiful, shows promise

Notifications for a snoozed item should work even if the card does not have a due date. To me those are not mutually exclusive. I still want to be reminded of a todo even if it doesnt have a specific due date. Needs more snooze options. Selecting custom snooze all the time is a major waste of time and mental energy. One thing I would suggest to further improve the app is to update the left and right "skipping" of cards to actually cycle through the cards "left" and "right". So instead of just having it unidirectional make the card stack loop bidirectional. This way you can quickly go back to a card you just sent to the back of the list without having to go all the way through the stack.

Its pretty but...

theres no historic data. Things get deleted in 30 days. Wish there was a way to look at tasks that were completed in a calendar view.
